You guys are crazy, this album is 100 times better than anything they have done in the last 20 years. I went from hating Metallica to almost loving them again. The riffage, time changes and heaviness is what old school fans have been waiting for. I've listened to it everyday since I downloaded it last week.

At first I was apprehensive after only hearing "The day that never comes", but since I got my copy its growing on me like fungus! It kinda took me by surprise on the first listen. It sounded so much heavier the what I'd gotten used to! Just keeps getting better with each spin.

Hold yer horses!!!! Don't nut over this one yet! Don't git me wrong Dark1, this IS way better than most of the crap they've put out in the last 20..........but........to me the OLD Metallica is dead. I know I know bands grow, and who wants to hear Justice part2........me.............I can't get past most of the "oh yeahs" that Bob Rock programmed for all eternity into James' head trying to make him an actual singer. He sounds like a gotdamed evangelistic preacher for god's sake. The music is way tasty , and complex, I gotta give it to them there. But for some reason, I can't get back into them the way I thought this album would make me want to. Would the lack of oh yeah's seal the deal probably. I miss the Hetfield of old. His voice back in the day was a big part of their unique sound. I give it one and 1/2 thumbs up, just because Kirk and James are some seriously gifted guitar players, and this time they show it. Oh, and fuk LARS..........................
