I'd vote for Alvin Lee ( 10 Years After ). But there was also another boy from Oak Cliff in Dallas besides Stevie Ray named Rocky Athes, Formerly of LIGHTNING ( early to mid 70's ). He's still doin strong in the Dallas area but am not sure of his website. Could probably google it. - LATER

I was gonna ask about the great jazz guitarists out there, but someone already brought it up. Check out Tommy Emmanuel, he's probably the best guitar player in the world. He's from Australia, and he's the first artist to ever sell out the Bosque River Stage at MCC. It took a LOT to get him there, but it was worth it. and not to mention, he plays more that 365 shows a year...which means he plays 2 to 3 shows on some nights. He's amazing. As for metal guitarists, I don't particular like metal in the first place, but I appreciate it. It takes talent to play those licks, but I enjoy listening to jazz more than metal.
