These are your choices, but feel free to add your own ideas. I know there are metal heads out there that would suggest bands that I have never heard of, so feel free to mention them

And I think you can take Pantera off the list.

No, leave Pantera on. While you're at it, add Stevie Ray Vaughn, The Beatles, and Buddy Holly.
GEEEEEEEEEEEEPPP!!!

i know you can take pantera off the list, but why? i would love to see some great guitarists step up and tour with the other guys as a tribute to Dimebag...bear in mind, I am not a fan of Pantera, but I would go see that show...assuming they could all agree...probably as likely as Zepellin reunion

I'm not a pantera fan cause I can't stand phil loveselmo. He always came across c o c k y and preachy.

they just weren't my type of music. I heard them nonstop on 99.5 KISS down in San Antonio all throughout high school and got tired of 'em. Thanks to KISS, I also dislike AC/DC, Corrosion of Conformity, and Union Underground. I think they played all of those bands every hour. Also, when I was in high school, I was really big into stuff like the Toadies, silverchair, and bush. The hardest thing I had ever listened to was sevendust.

Pantera should get Eddie Goings (not sure on spelling) to play guitar for them. The dude is phenominal.. Peace D

hey erock! your station needs to take a hint from your experiences too. I get tired of hearing the same stuff all day on the bear. I had to get more cds and satellite radio LOL. Phil may have been wangy but he knew he was in one of the baddest bands of all time! Power groove southern metal is the best. Metallica sold out to go mainstream. Godsmack is headed that way too.

don't get ahead of yourself...it ain't my station and I don't pick the music. Be glad that i don't because you would never hear the end of all the modern rock and you would be begging for Kansas. The Bear has a good mix of new and classic, which sucks for those who want one or the other, but there is no other way. We aren't a big enough market for two rock stations, so we get the best of both worlds on the same frequency. Bands like Pantera were great for rock and roll, Metallica and Godsmack are selling out, but who cares. Nickelback and Oasis may use the same four chords over and over, but you can't deny that they sell. The music industry is really transforming into a business rather than an outlet. I just recently quit my band because I don't want a musician's lifestyle. I don't want the pinnacle of my life to revolve around money and albums sold. It takes a truly devoted or driven person to make it as a musician and when you find a band who is talkented enough and willing to make their dreams a reality, then they are the same people who will do anything to make it happen. Sure they sold out, but aren't each of those bands five years and one bad album away from obscurity. They have to do whatever it takes to pay the bills and if that is straying from what got them there to begin with, then that is a sacrifice they must make. Load and reload were great albums because they were radio friendly and fit the changing genres. Die-hard fans hated them, but record labels aren't concerned with fans, only numbers. And if Lars Ulrich farted and it sold a million copies, beleive me, there would be another boxed set out there in a heart beat with twenty-one glorious farting tracks on it. Radio is radio, my friend. The station plays what keeps people listening. I feel that they do a great job at the Bear of taking requests and considering you, the listeners, in what they play. Turning to satellite and cd's doesn't tell us anything. Call the request line and, politelly, make a request. Get what you want on the air. Who knows, it might make more people call in.
